2021 White Design Program – Lighting Improvement for a VGH Beitou Day Care Center
Project Overview
When a VGH Beitou day-care center relocated to the first floor of a neuro-regeneration center, the new site had only half the original floor area and lacked exterior windows for direct ventilation and daylight. Without altering the existing fit-out, TDIS focused on improving the lighting environment, introducing human-centric fixtures that simulate the natural rhythm of daylight over the course of a day. This addressed circadian disruption, sleep disorders, and mood issues among elderly residents caused by prolonged exposure to a fixed lighting environment, while creating a layered, nostalgic lighting atmosphere to support residents' physical and mental well-being.
